wild that they're going with the destruction of the reserve status of USD. |

I suppose at some point the propaganda that sustains "of course we're not exporting our inflation" seeps into the bureaucracies themselves. |

there's been chatter re: establishing a "BRICS" currency, and CN in particular has been hovering up gold like mad. |

of course the chinese will lie, cheat, steal, but question is whether the world's tired enough of our shit to try out their imperial management over ours. |

asciilifeform not convinced that cn is decoupled from anglo reich to the degree implied in this hypothetical |

and for that matter, imho the popular framing of 'fate of usd' as a spontaneous catastrophe of whatever kind, is a lol. is, rather, controlled demolition. |

i don't fully buy the "east/west is the new red/blue" theory. not that i think china would somehow be a better master or anything, just that i can't see china (or muslims, or russians) looking at US elites and thinking "these are reasonable people, maybe we could work with them" |
17:43 |
billymg |
i think perhaps at one point they tried that, and then the US responded in bad faith, as they do (sanctions, color revolutions, exporting inflation and degeneracy, etc.) |
17:44 |

why would anyone want to go into business with a party that acts the way the US does |
