07:45 mircea_popescu and we know for a fact that the tits ~were~ a major factor in the academic performance of these girls, because the better boobs (with maybe one exception) agglomerate at the front and between the teachers.
07:46 mircea_popescu the temptation to presume this somehow invalidates the curriculum and teachers' approach however is not necessarily warranted. it may be that women with better tits are simply better women overall, which includes both an ability and an interest in learning.

08:00 mircea_popescu (and yes - it's not "the ability to communicate", as early darwinists thought, out of their inclination towards pious frauds to favour socialism, that distinguishes us from animals. nor is it "an ability to make and use tools", as the 50s folk retreated to in desperation. no, none of that - just this, that our females have tits so deeply disproportionate to their bodies it is unseen in nature. 12:01 phf i kind of look at it like version 0.5.3. there's barely any development on it, very little actively harmful code, if you don't count asdf 3.* in contribs. it works, it can be studied and improved upon, as it stands it's utterly ignored by the cool kids. there are also of course technical merits, the compiler is conceptually identical and on average almost as good (there were many micro optimizations done by sbcl team, but even they are
12:01 phf tradeoffs) and much better for floating. there's still a tightly integrated interpreter (i heard sbcl brought that back in recent releases), so doing eval even on early 2000s machines is almost instantaneous for repl work. memory usage is much much better (pretty sure sbcl core policy is "memory is cheap")
12:05 phf raymond toy does, almost exclusively, code cleanup, bug fixes and work on floating point code (i think he maintains fortran to lisp compiler, that i think he used to (?) make big consulting money with)

12:08 phf no, and while we're on downsides, unicode integration into the rest of the system is dodgy (there's a lot of assumptions in lateral code that chars are 1 byte)
12:08 mircea_popescu phf can unicode be snipped off cleanly ?
12:08 phf yes. in fact btcbase runs unicode-less instance
12:09 mircea_popescu i'd personally much prefer unicode join the scrap heap with "pki", dns, ntp etc.

12:12 phf i've been mulling over that question with logs. fwiw, entire log can be kept in memory for analysis, annotation, whatever, 180mb as utf-8 byte arrays. with unicode strings takes up twice the memory on 16-bit cmucl, and ~~4 times on 32-bit sbcl. i'm not yet convinced that transcoding everything you get into string and then transcoding it back to a bytearray onto the wire is the best strategy
12:13 asciilifeform incidentally, mircea_popescu would do well to remember that the bulk of the material worth reading accessible on the net is non-latin (specifically cyrillic!1111)

22:48 mircea_popescu so he decided to shoot a bunch of polytechnic students ?
22:49 asciilifeform iirc they were 'diversity admits'.
22:49 mircea_popescu the very notion, he hates feminists so he shoots adolescents. i suppose if he hated policeman he'd have shot plumbers.
22:50 mircea_popescu i dunno, 5-10 in 50-60 is about what females traditionally do at polytechnic.
22:50 mircea_popescu was same in 50s, was same in 80s, ro, ru, fr, wherever.
22:50 asciilifeform postal folks tend to shoot he closest approximation they can get to.
22:50 mircea_popescu so he couldn't get to nursing home ?
22:50 asciilifeform *the
22:50 mircea_popescu shoot a bunch of women at jewish home, about 54098564096056% more feminist per bullet.
22:51 asciilifeform where are you even getting the older thing
22:51 mircea_popescu what do you mean ?
22:51 asciilifeform nobody gives a fuck re old women

22:51 mircea_popescu so then what is all this talking of feminists as if one gives a shit ?
22:52 asciilifeform it is a boojum in the mind of specific certain people, and it is invariably a reasonably young chick
22:53 asciilifeform of the 'недавашка' (how do english that??) flavour.
22:53 mircea_popescu yeah well. meanwhile at reality ranch, all contact sports have this phenomena, where people age out of it. it's natural. but they don't WANT out of it, because they fucking liked it. so they become radio commentators, referees, whatever they can find.
22:53 mircea_popescu occasionally they get going some effort to reform this or that about the sport in question
22:53 assbot [MPEX] [S.MPOE] 10394 @ 0.00056811 = 5.9049 BTC [-] {2}
22:53 mircea_popescu THAT is your feminists. who the fuck cares, really.
22:53 mircea_popescu so talk show hosts don't like how the ball's being swung ?
22:55 asciilifeform anyway the mega-question is, who ought he have shot?
22:55 asciilifeform that he could get to.
22:55 mircea_popescu self-described feminist is, definitionally, old-gendered person that hasn't yet come to terms with it, still sees self as female.
22:55 mircea_popescu in what sense it'd be the case is anyone's guess, but whatever.
22:55 mircea_popescu asciilifeform if he ACTUALLY hated feminists, he seriouslty should have light up a jewish old folks home.
22:55 mircea_popescu either "gender" also, da fuck difference does it make by then.
22:56 asciilifeform he wanted to plug ~powerful~
22:56 asciilifeform not alzheimers, wtf
22:56 mircea_popescu ahahahaha so he shot some students ?
22:56 asciilifeform aha
22:56 mircea_popescu come on. wtf power, in what world are students anything but the subway chewinggum on people's soles.
22:56 asciilifeform as breivik, later
22:57 asciilifeform 'make the next batch think' maybe it was, in his head..
22:57 mircea_popescu i suppose...
22:57 mircea_popescu think what, "don't be a feminist or you might get plugged" ?
22:57 asciilifeform nfi
22:58 mircea_popescu seems deeply uninformed as to how biological processes with a cognitive component work in humans.
22:58 mircea_popescu every adolescent slut promises herself she'll be anything but her mother,
22:58 mircea_popescu every 40something ex-adolescent slut is EXACTLY her mother.
22:58 asciilifeform this is as far as i'm able to follow the thought process before it ceases to make sense.
22:59 mircea_popescu not like what she resolves to do or not do in one phase has any fucking bearing on the next.
22:59 asciilifeform no shit
22:59 mircea_popescu for that matter, every insecure, death-fearing derp promises himself he'll do himself in before he's too decreipt
22:59 mircea_popescu every decrepit ex-insecure derp, still death-fearing, happily drools on the side of hte ouch
23:00 asciilifeform this too is malnutrition!
23:00 asciilifeform Insufficient millimorts.
23:00 asciilifeform in modern 'diet'.
23:00 mircea_popescu possibly.
23:01 mircea_popescu anyway. no sane girl / young woman ever becomes a feminist because she WANTS to become a feminist. they spend more on creams than you spend on hardware.
23:01 mircea_popescu they just fucking age into it, and it doesn't ask them./
23:01 asciilifeform explain the 20yo ones then.
23:02 mircea_popescu the 20yo ones whats
23:02 asciilifeform feminists.
23:02 asciilifeform and they are in every other liberasty also.
23:02 mircea_popescu maybe we don't share a definition. feminist = inept old prune with nothing better to do than drone on about things nobody gives a shit about.
23:02 asciilifeform 'free paaaalestine!!1'
23:02 mircea_popescu what 20 yo feminist ? show me one.
23:03 mircea_popescu it'll be either a chick nobody could conceivably want for any purpose, so basically an old prune before her time,
23:03 asciilifeform visit usa ccollege campus. any of'em.
23:03 mircea_popescu or else a total coy princess fucking with people's nerves. which - is fine and good, but it's not in any sense a feminist
23:03 mircea_popescu at least not more than the chick claiming lesbianism to escape inept advances is actually gay.
23:04 * asciilifeform has nfi, and gotta go swap a disk, bbl
23:04 mircea_popescu asciilifeform and i'd see what i and anyone else always and forever sees on college campuses. a buncha dizzy cows of either gender. what!
23:04 mircea_popescu the dudes are programmers about as much as the chicks are feminists.
23:05 mircea_popescu and all of them secret agents, astronauts, power rangers and teenage neutered minja turtles or w/e it was.
23:05 mircea_popescu ganja ?
23:05 mircea_popescu i forget.

23:15 mircea_popescu these are rich tho
23:15 mircea_popescu feminists are ~what lawyers used to be in the gilt age
23:16 mircea_popescu about as poor as church mice, the dumb runts in the litter.
