00:01 would-liquify on the purely overpressure end of things - throwing the tank four stories high and letting the contents 'splat' also works.
00:01 would-liquify for whatever value of tank
00:01 mats sappers had worst job in theatre for a decade
00:02 would-liquify decade?!
00:02 mats relegated to route clearance instead of hunting enemy
00:02 would-liquify when did sappers hunt anything
00:02 mircea_popescu would-liquify calculate the blast nbeeded to launch tank those 10 meters high
00:03 mircea_popescu tank, generously, 10 tons.
00:03 mircea_popescu rather than 45.
00:03 mats i don't know all that much about sappers historically
00:03 would-liquify mircea_popescu: standard 20kg charge ?
00:03 mircea_popescu um.
00:03 * would-liquify not sapper
00:03 mats i was personally trained to fight in urban environments and handle demo
00:03 mircea_popescu nope. a 20kg charge will lift a single 10 ton slab about a foot.
00:04 mats and some mine clearance here and there
00:04 mircea_popescu fracture it, if it fractures, yes. but lift it 10 meters ? hardly./
00:04 would-liquify it would be interesting to calculate the optimum here from first principles
00:04 mircea_popescu it would.
00:04 mats no crawling around trenches, emplacing c wire, wutever
00:04 would-liquify but i do not know enough about the energy transfer
00:04 mircea_popescu because you realise, most of the pressure escapes to sides
00:04 mircea_popescu less resistance
00:04 mircea_popescu and the higher it gets - exponentially more so.
00:05 mircea_popescu by the time you're a meter up, you're looking at a small projection on a circle.
00:05 mircea_popescu (crater hole is also inside circle, so your radius is not the 1 m you lifted the tank

Cjust changing stakes as I had the bankroll to do so.
