i don't understand this amc stuff. i hold some amc-pt shares at btct and there is a huge wall sitting on 0.0025 and one on 0.002499. i have the option to transfer my shares to bitfunder and convert them so "am" shares, which are traded for ~0.002. so essentially trading on btct is locked down and i'd loose value if i transfer to bitfunder. i'd be very pleased if someone could brief me with a tl;tr what i'm missing here.. |

"The bursting of Bitcoin technology on the scene at this time in history is not a mere coincidence. It is a reaction to three separate epochal developments largely emanating from the developed economies: (1) centralized and oppressive monetary authority (2) a dominant and complicit legacy banking system, and (3) the eradication of financial privacy." |

This is my reasoning: Some Bitcoin is a limited number, therefore making them rare. Rare things usually gain value over time, right? So that is a small number / limited number. So are shares, so if you have say ASIC shares, that you bought with Bitcoins, you are multipling a limited number by a limited number, which makes a smaller number (percentage wise) if you get my drift |

thus making it rarer and ultimately more valuable |

jurov, tie that in with money and you'll get people interested :p |
19:33 |
cosmo |
anything with money, it's all about money. ego is money. |
19:34 |
matthew_boyd |
I AM MONEY. |
19:34 |
ertyctnseldom |
cosmo, are you a huge investor? |
19:34 |
Skitchen |
money is money??? |
19:34 |
matthew_boyd |
If the answer to that question is yes, I am Matthew and I am pleased to meet you. |
19:34 |
cosmo |
nope, i'm some kid. which is why i want to invest, while i'm young. |
19:34 |
cosmo |
made a bunch from litecoin before it jumped up. |
19:35 |
cosmo |
would like to work 9-5 as little as possible :P |
19:35 |
ertyctnseldom |
if so, i'd contact bitpay for example |
19:35 |
cosmo |
that's what i was thinking |
19:36 |
jurov |
invest into yourself, learn stuff |
19:36 |
jurov |
*useful stuff |
19:36 |
cosmo |
jurov, the best ways of doing that tend to not get you money.. |
19:36 |
matthew_boyd |
cosmo, you say you are young, how young? |
19:36 |
cosmo |
usually the opposite :c |
19:36 |
cosmo |
i'm 21. |
19:36 |
Skitchen |
the problem I have is knowing whether I'm learning 'useful' stuff or just stuff =/ |
19:36 |
matthew_boyd |
Not as young as me, get on my level. |
19:37 |
benkay |
you don't have to pay to learn, cosmo. |
19:37 |
cosmo |
useful if you put it to use |
19:37 |
ertyctnseldom |
benkay, wise words |
19:37 |
benkay |
that's just the dominant american paradigm. |
19:37 |
cosmo |
benkay, no, but you have to pay to eat, to have electricity, sometimes to travel, etc etc. |
19:37 |
cosmo |
cash rules everything around me |
19:38 |
benkay |
well duh. |
19:38 |
benkay |
find a role where your skills will appreciate in value faster than your salary will appreciate |
19:38 |
benkay |
voila |
19:38 |
benkay |
you are getting paid to learn |
19:38 |
cosmo |
well, personally i believe the world we're in right now is only going to slowly deteriorate |
19:39 |
benkay |
how do you plan to cope? |
19:39 |
Skitchen |
what do you mean going to? it is slowly deteriorating. |
19:39 |
cosmo |
cope with what? |
19:39 |
benkay |
are your litecoin winnings enough to guarantee security through the great disjointing? |
19:39 |
cosmo |
heheh, you get it |
19:40 |
cosmo |
nobody's immortal |
19:40 |
Skitchen |
...yet... |
19:40 |
ertyctnseldom |
+1 |
19:41 |
benkay |
so just give up? |
19:41 |
benkay |
read books while the world burns? |
19:41 |
matthew_boyd |
benkay: that was my plan |
19:41 |
cosmo |
it'd be nice to have a house to read books in :p |
19:41 |
benkay |
and the guns to hold it |
19:41 |
benkay |
and the food to survive on |
19:41 |
benkay |
and maybe something warm and concave |
19:41 |
Skitchen |
420 while the world burns ;) |
19:42 |
cosmo |
yeah, and work sucks, especially when 80% of what's out there is retail, so i want my money to work for me. |
