00:00 Chaaaang-Noi anyone have anything to say bad about a lotus exige? the seems reasonabbly priced
00:00 jcpham it's a lotus

00:00 assbot [HAVELOCK] [ASICM] 11 @ 0.02514 = 0.2765 BTC [+]
00:00 Chaaaang-Noi not a car guy, why is lotus bad?
00:00 Diablo-D3 Chaaaang-Noi: they're not bad cars, but I'd buy a tesla roadster instead
00:00 assbot [BTCTC] [TAT.ASICMINER] 8 @ 0.0249 = 0.1992 BTC [+]
00:01 Diablo-D3 Chaaaang-Noi: uses the same platform as the lotus exige does too, btw
00:01 Chaaaang-Noi D3 i looked, sold out
00:01 Diablo-D3 not sold out, no longer manufactured
00:01 Diablo-D3 you'd have to buy one used
00:01 KRS- chaaaaaang-noi: the thing to know about lotus is that I belive they might have perfected suspension and handling somewhere long the line
00:01 Chaaaang-Noi how did i get soo many aaa's ?
00:02 Diablo-D3 KRS-: they did, its why tesla went with building the chassis of the roadster in the lotus plant in england
00:02 Diablo-D3 and finishing them here in america
00:02 Diablo-D3 (model s is done entirely here)
00:02 Chaaaang-Noi that lotus is significantly cheaper than a lambo
00:02 Diablo-D3 Chaaaang-Noi: basically, its this
00:02 Diablo-D3 anyone with a tesla roadster
00:02 Diablo-D3 will get mad pussy
00:02 Diablo-D3 its an extremely exclusive, yet not very expensive, car
00:02 Diablo-D3 its not like putting down $2.1m for a veyron
00:03 Diablo-D3 anyone can buy a veyron
00:03 Chaaaang-Noi lol, im okay on the pussy already :)
00:03 KRS- Diablo: I did not know that, seems to tell me that the Tesla is the best of both worlds then. I often see them where I work in Boca Raton, Florida. Its not uncommon to see a $6-figure car wherever you go.
00:03 Diablo-D3 the base model of the roadster was like $125k
00:03 KRS- they sure are small though.
00:03 Diablo-D3 KRS-: tesla started from nothing
00:03 Chaaaang-Noi and now we are here
00:03 Diablo-D3 KRS-: in the beginning, the genius elon musk was told by everyone
00:04 Diablo-D3 "no one would buy a mass produced electric car"
00:04 Diablo-D3 so, he made one
00:04 Diablo-D3 then they said "well a electric sports car could never be fast"
00:04 Diablo-D3 it has a 0 to 60 of like 3.2 seconds
00:05 Diablo-D3 then milage
00:05 Diablo-D3 for such a small battery pack it gets more than enough milage out of it
00:05 Diablo-D3 someone managed to get 313 miles out of it and still had charge left
00:05 KRS- thats a great 0-60..I had a Ford Mustang that did better though =D I built it for drag racing
00:05 Diablo-D3 KRS-: thats _stock_
00:05 Diablo-D3 sports cars just dont do that stock
00:05 KRS- heh badass
00:05 Diablo-D3 no sports car
00:05 Diablo-D3 not even the veyron
00:05 KRS- nope
00:06 KRS- Not sure if I like the car, but this paint job is bad to the bone: http://idata.over-blog.com/1/03/28/24/Actu2012/SalonAuto2012-Mercedes-04.jpg
00:06 optimator ok - it's not the size of your battery pack...
00:06 Diablo-D3 the model s has like twice the size of the battery pack
00:06 Chaaaang-Noi http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?zip=64011&endYear=2014&modelCode1=EXIGE&showcaseOwnerId=0&startYear=1981&makeCode1=LOTUS&searchRadius=0&mmt=[LOTUS[EXIGE[]][]]&listingId=347516351&listingIndex=11&Log=0
00:06 Chaaaang-Noi under 40k not bad...
00:06 Diablo-D3 and its a relatively huge executive class car
00:07 Diablo-D3 Im interested in the next car they're doing
00:07 Diablo-D3 base model price of $30k
00:07 Diablo-D3 basically identical to model S, but 20% smaller
00:09 KRS- Fast electric cars dont fascinate me much..I love a small or big block with a big ass blower on top and a set of carburetors.. Maybe something with a supercharger from B.D.S. or B&M really turns my crank.
00:09 KRS- inefficent as hell but a lot of drama
00:10 Diablo-D3 KRS-: yeah, Im more interested in a black model s
00:10 Diablo-D3 its elegant without being gay
00:10 Diablo-D3 like, what the fuck is with any of the new caddiliacs
00:10 Diablo-D3 with all the fucking whatever the fuck headlights and shit
00:10 Diablo-D3 its ugly
00:11 optimator KRS-: pantera
00:11 KRS- Here's a great example: http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1465/5369529/10815997/365230636.jpg
00:11 KRS- pantera?

03:02 furuknap That's because we had our crisis in the 90s and fixed the system. When the erst of the world fell, we went about out daily business, reading about it in the rest of the world like if it was a minor flood in china.

03:02 furuknap The fractional reserve thing, among other things, was tightened substantially, like it is now being done in the rest of the world.
03:03 furuknap By substantially, I mean to the extent that when the rest of the world was shitting its pants, Norway relying solely on exporting over-priced stuff to those countries, shrugged its shoulders and just kept going.
03:04 furuknap It looks like it is a fairytale but the truth is it is Norway is just lucky. No skill, no abilities, no genius. Just luck.
03:04 zebedee_ My views on economics and politics have changed completely in the last 3 years. Predates my discovery of BTC by about 9 months; BTC only accelerated it. I think that slowly, more people are waking up.
03:04 furuknap FFS, we own almost 2% of all US publicly traded shares. More in Europe and slightly less in Asia. For a population of just over 31, that's a frigging miracle.
03:05 zebedee_ 31?
03:05 zebedee_ you mean 6 million?
03:05 furuknap OK, so that was slightly exaggerated. We've just passed 5 million. One less now after I moved.
03:05 zebedee_ lol
03:06 furuknap My new slogan: "Diminishing the population of Norway, one citizen at a time"
03:06 zebedee_ Japan's doing that all by itself with radical success.

03:08 zebedee_ Rural areas, and the edges of Tokyo that were booming in the bubble 25 years ago, are really hurting now though.

03:09 zebedee_ Knocked down the one next door. Putting up 3 in its place. Sigh.

15:24 furuknap The name dollar derives from Thaler, which means valley, and comes from the fact that the first thalers were made in Joachimsthal (Joachim's valley) i the Checz republic back in the late 1500s.

17:17 jurov this london thing seems more srs to me
17:17 mircea_popescu is this the thing which was "the first london conference" ?
17:18 mircea_popescu or is it a different london thing ?
17:18 jurov this one: http://btclondon.com no taaki around

17:23 mircea_popescu yaya.
17:23 mircea_popescu organised by coinsomething
17:28 jurov on one side i know it will be 99% bs. but also it seems to me i will have to solve my difficulties and occassionally show.
17:28 jurov because i know few coinbr users that started using it cuz they met me
17:29 jurov and i didn't seemed as scammer to them :D
17:29 jurov (lol maybe that's why scammers love to present on conferences)

17:33 mircea_popescu jurov so go.
17:35 kakobrekla jurov -assets will support you with a mini projector
17:35 kakobrekla so you can shine it in their faces
17:35 mircea_popescu the idea isn't "omg don't go!!!"
17:35 mircea_popescu lol
17:35 jborkl and a mini bike -, so you can show up in style
17:35 jurov i prefer lollerskates
17:36 mircea_popescu the idea is wtf is wrong with people, they don't have a business but imagine organising conferences is the solution, they don't have a clue (as to the history, for instance) but they imagine being loud is the solution etc
17:36 kakobrekla mini bikes are not in fashion anymore
17:36 jurov 600hp bike is the way to go
17:36 kakobrekla mircea_popescu they would disagree :)
17:37 mircea_popescu to put it this way : london is london just like the corner bar is the corner bar.
17:37 mircea_popescu people will go to london just like people will be drinking in the bar
17:37 jborkl wait rent a white Bentley and put silver all over you
17:37 jborkl oh wait- someone already did that
17:37 mircea_popescu this irrespective of some kid in the train station/lobby distributing leaflets.
17:38 mircea_popescu ever seen retarded kids in impoverished countries taking their pic against some above average parked car that happened in their way ? that, in a word, is bitcoin conference organising.
