12:37 PeterL bingoboingo: did you ever figure out what was going on with pingbacks and why they are not going out?
~ 2 hours 39 minutes ~
15:17 asciilifeform BingoBoingo: disks arrived today. 4 envelopes, 1 -- empty. will add to photo shoot.
~ 27 minutes ~
15:44 BingoBoingo asciilifeform: Very interesting
15:44 BingoBoingo Were they all opened?
~ 24 minutes ~
16:09 asciilifeform BingoBoingo: the diskless 1 looks to have been carefully opened. the others -- devil knows, maybe opened & resealed with some care, maybe virginal
16:09 asciilifeform i haven't opened any yet, photoing at first as-is
16:11 BingoBoingo I wetted the adhesive before applying the tape for extra holding power. If the glue isn't attached, it was opened in transit.
16:12 BingoBoingo Or the "Industria Argentina" label that should have come with the envelopes was missing
16:12 asciilifeform will look.
16:13 asciilifeform there's a tremendous qty of stamps on'em, possibly label is under a stamp
16:17 BingoBoingo Well, envelopes came in a plastic wrapping at the local kiosko
16:17 BingoBoingo Last I saw them the local correo only put a small narrow stamp with the tracking number. Everything else applied later
~ 16 minutes ~
16:34 asciilifeform contents of 3 envelopes fully match what appares in BingoBoingo's photoset.
16:34 asciilifeform the missing disk is #2 .
16:35 asciilifeform photographed all envelopes & their contents.
16:35 asciilifeform also apparently argentard envelopes release impressive dust clouds when you cut'em.
16:37 BingoBoingo PeterL: Not yet, I suspect I am going to have to recompile apache, php, or both to get a missing extension
16:38 BingoBoingo asciilifeform: The dust is interesting. Is it the wood pulp or does it seems to be something else?
16:46 asciilifeform loox like wood pulp. just like crappy old sovok envelopes.
16:50 BingoBoingo Ah
~ 16 minutes ~
17:06 asciilifeform BingoBoingo: took the pics, will post later today, atm hands full.
17:14 BingoBoingo asciilifeform: Aite
~ 21 minutes ~
17:35 BingoBoingo 5 unused seals have been located, a bit late, but found.
17:36 asciilifeform BingoBoingo: these were never on piz books, they're yours to do what you like.
~ 1 hours 16 minutes ~
18:53 BingoBoingo asciilifeform: Aite, I'll keep them around
18:54 asciilifeform BingoBoingo: keep in mind that they're not particularly good seals, when w/out e.g. nail polish.
18:55 asciilifeform any moron can print similar-looking seal in coupla min (or simply buy a big enuff roll where the #s roll over.)
18:56 BingoBoingo It's difficult for me to evaluate how much of an enhancement the nail polish was. It increased the sensitivity of the seals for sure. This is great for sealing things in place. With respect to things being shipped or moved, the enhanced version seems to have a greater potential for false positives
18:57 asciilifeform BingoBoingo: tbf i did not seal'em for movement.
18:57 BingoBoingo asciilifeform: This is true.
~ 2 hours 10 minutes ~
21:08 mod6 BingoBoingo: Can you do me a favor too, can you pop open the Foundation's server and check and see if it has a FG in there?
21:08 mod6 thx, bbl
21:09 BingoBoingo mod6: Already opened. None seen inside.
21:10 mod6 Thanks, cool then. Just wanted to be sure.
21:12 BingoBoingo mod6: With asciilifeform receiving the dulap disks, I now feel comfortable asking. Do you want the foundation's disks mailed, or do you want to wait and see if asciilifeform is taking a pickup trip down here.
21:13 mod6 Yeah, let's wait and see. I've got the data, thanks to your gathering things up and PGP'ing them to me. If disks are getting lost, it might be better to wait and see if there is a pick up trip, or if not, destruction by fire.
21:14 BingoBoingo mod6: Well, in the local urbanity, hammering into sand is more feasible.
21:15 mod6 No blow torches 'eh?
21:15 BingoBoingo mod6: Smell and fumes are a concern
21:16 mod6 Fair enough, I'll leave that up to you.
