10:32 PeterL http://logs.bitdash.io/pest/2023-02-26#1024298 << I think there is a knob that would help with that, maybe presence_check_seconds or peer_offline_interval_seconds, I seem to remember setting one of those so that it would not mark people as "away"

10:33 PeterL does blatta have an online help to say what the knobs control?
~ 16 minutes ~
10:50 awt PeterL: no there is no documentation of the knobs
10:50 awt In this case it would be peer_offline_interval_seconds
10:52 PeterL awt: when I start up blatta, before I connect my IRC I get a bunch of error warnings like "ERROR 2023-02-27 10:26:16,366: Attempt to use client prior to connection"
10:53 PeterL would it be better for it to know it is not connected to a client and save the messages for later delivery when the client connects?
~ 30 minutes ~
11:23 awt PeterL: yes it would. Haven't had time to implement that message queue.
11:23 awt Also, will not be an issue in post-irc versions

15:08 PeterL mod6, you getting hit by this snowstorm? My kids had two days off of school last week, now we've got another storm dumping snow on us again, visibility is down to about 3 meters.
15:10 mod6 Got dumped on last week, hard, almost 20" in 72 hrs. Today a bit of rain/snow for a few hours.
15:14 mod6 We got a dump in January that was like 24" in 48 hrs... and it was wet & heavy. :< At least this dump was cold enough to make the snow light.
15:14 mod6 It isn't super common to have snowfalls > than say 8-10" at a time. Often is more like 3-5". So 16"+ is pretty heavy.
15:19 PeterL This past week was the first snow of more than about an inch we have gotten all winter, the weather has been abnormally mild. My fiend has a son up in the UP though, said they already had 48" on the ground before the storms this past week.
15:19 PeterL s/friend/fiend
15:20 mod6 Ah, yeah, it certainly hasn't been as snowy as last year, or as cold. I've got some extended family in da yupper - they get some wild lake-effect stuff up there, indeed.
15:23 mod6 After that january dump we got, the whole thing melted down to like 3" because of a warm front that moved through for a few weeks. Then, last weeks crud came through. *eyeroll*
15:24 mod6 I did learn something this year, aparently in Canada when they have ice on the power lines they can do a controlled short-circut to melt the ice off the lines for up to 30-50km. Apparently without impacting customers, and takes 2-3hrs.
15:28 mod6 Saw a video of this, kinda neat.
~ 40 minutes ~
16:08 PeterL Just pushed one co-worker's car out of the snow, and just as we got them out of the parking lot the plow shows up. It's about 6 inches after 3 hours
16:17 mod6 Oh yeah, that's dumpin pretty hard. 4WD++
