00:58 billymg !. uptime
00:58 bitbot billymg: time since my last reconnect : 42d 6h 49m
00:58 billymg neat
00:58 billymg i just dropped the db and did a full restore (took several minutes), bot still connected
00:59 billymg didn't accomplish what i wanted to though because "pg_restore: [archiver] unsupported version (1.14) in file header"
01:00 billymg i got tired of waiting for the rk to finish populating the text search column so i figured i'd dump the db, run the text search indexer locally to populate the column, then restore on the server
01:00 billymg but version mismatch, so nodice
01:01 billymg i'm gonna run the indexer on the server i guess, hopefully it'll finish by tomorrow morning
01:06 billymg i guess this alone wouldn't cause any issues for the bot, so long as no new lines come in, but also restarted postgres before doing the drop/restore just to flush everything out

04:17 billymg test
04:19 billymg ok, the text search index is in place on the server, i'll work on getting that rolled out friday or saturday morning

14:51 awt http://logs.bitdash.io/pest/2022-06-08#1006546 << the built in ircd I used never had a concept of "ops"
14:51 bitbot Logged on 2022-06-08 23:32:19 asciilifeform: awt: was thinking about a hypothetical blatta mod for emplacing e.g. a n00b gate in place of dulapnet;
14:53 awt asciilifeform: I still like the idea of a bridge bot - single peer/handle that annotates messages from n00b hopper with irc nicks.
15:07 asciilifeform awt: 'op' in this case is simply convention
15:09 asciilifeform simply need a means to mark which irc talker gets to issue pest cmds for peering control of the bridge station.

16:36 awt <cult>I wonder where mp is buried or was he cremated?</cult>
16:42 shinohai awt: Slavegirls had a taxidermist stuff him so can have adventures "Weekend at Bernie's" style.
16:46 awt heh

17:07 billymg just had coffee with an interesting lisp and erlang guy, fully expecting it to be coffee with a surfer looking for real estate in cr
17:07 billymg though he's that too
17:08 billymg i sent him the link to http://pestnet.io in case he wants to drop in
17:13 * billymg knows he needs to bump the blatta version on there too
17:15 asciilifeform http://logs.bitdash.io/pest/2022-06-09#1006580 << per hanbot's www, they burned him

17:16 asciilifeform ( whether cast the ashes into dildo -- did not say )
17:18 asciilifeform http://logs.bitdash.io/pest/2022-06-09#1006585 << didja remember to give him a key? lol
17:18 bitbot Logged on 2022-06-09 17:08:35 billymg: i sent him the link to http://pestnet.io in case he wants to drop in
17:21 billymg asciilifeform: i figured i'd first let him read the logs / more about pest on his own. there are links to #asciilifeform on there too, that only requires finding the seekrit password
17:21 asciilifeform aite
17:24 * billymg will have to bbl, irl chores for the rest of the day

19:32 PeterL hi everbody
19:33 shinohai Heya PeterL, wb!
~ 15 minutes ~
19:49 PeterL just thought I would try out the blatta 9977
19:50 * shinohai is loking 9977 best of all previous releases so far ...
20:02 PeterL looks like syncing after a long absence might take a while, I wonder if there are ways to make it more efficient (I think asciilifeform suggested only sending the getdata request to the sending node instead of everybody?)
20:15 PeterL I just thought of something, does blatta have a concept of wether messages have been delivered or not? I mean, if I have blatta running, and I am not connected to it, and somebody sends me a message, does it hold onto that until I join later?
20:19 PeterL here's something interesting I noticed while syncing: sometimes the number of peers I get for a message is higher than the number of peers in my wot? Shouldn't it max out at the number of peers I am connected to?
20:32 PeterL http://paste.deedbot.org/?id=MyWI << I have only 7 peers, but am seeing as high as 17 on the hearsay counter?
20:33 asciilifeform PeterL: loox like a bug
20:34 asciilifeform i.e. sumbody's getting counted >1x

23:42 deedbot test
23:49 signpost interesting. I connected weechat to deedbot's pest node, and speaking as deedbot, my messages always reach signpost.
23:49 signpost and quickly
23:50 signpost when speaking as signpost, deedbot does not always get the message, or it's slow.
23:50 signpost curious if there's something going on with the firewall.
23:53 awt http://logs.bitdash.io/pest/2022-06-09#1006604 << I have seen that before - thought I fixed it but I guess not
23:53 bitbot Logged on 2022-06-09 20:32:48 PeterL[billymg]: http://paste.deedbot.org/?id=MyWI << I have only 7 peers, but am seeing as high as 17 on the hearsay counter?
23:55 awt signpost: when viewing the debug logs of both stations you can see when messages go out and come in.
23:57 awt http://logs.bitdash.io/pest/2022-06-09#1006602 << yes but currently your station won't send GETDATA requests until it gets another message with a broken chain
23:57 bitbot Logged on 2022-06-09 20:15:21 PeterL[asciilifeform]: I just thought of something, does blatta have a concept of wether messages have been delivered or not? 23:58 * signpost trying with a clean deeb, might have crud in there from the prior attempt.
