asciilifeform: which version of flask are you using on dulap? and for flask/psycopg2, do you install and manage through portage, pip, manually? |
17:08 |
billymg |
the only ebuild i see for flask is flask-0.12.2 and i don't see one in there for psycopg2 |
17:11 |
billymg |
i'm not having any trouble getting these dependencies working, just wondering if you have a prescribed version or method of acquiring them that you recommend for dulap users |
17:25 |
asciilifeform |
billymg: iirc the current install used pip |
17:25 |
asciilifeform |
billymg: historically pythonisms via portage did not install reliably. |
17:26 |
billymg |
asciilifeform: ok great, pip was my first route as well, ty |

So this modified Gentoo is Cuntoo, right; how do they differ? |
17:31 |
asciilifeform |
this is probably a good time to point out that 1) asciilifeform did not make any attempt to preserve 'pip a la fossilized gentoo 2) when it dies, it dies, i will publish my existing set of logotron deps then, but no new py proggies |

verisimilitude: was draft name for trinque's 1st attempt at a musl-based gentoo. |
17:32 |
asciilifeform |
verisimilitude: 0 to do with my 'fossilized gentoo' at all, mine is a more modest effort to simply preserve the 2016 era glibc-based traditional gentoo and various packages. |
17:33 |
verisimilitude |
I've never installed Gentoo, and wonder if it would be worthwhile when my new laptop arrives. |
17:33 |
asciilifeform |
verisimilitude: if you've been getting along without it, probably not worthwhile |

I used GuixSD, but it broke, and I'm reluctant to install it over other options. |
17:35 |
asciilifeform |
i maintain it for own use, and to offer to my isp customers. because i refuse to use or support systemd-infected pseudolinux. |
17:35 |
verisimilitude |
I still use GuixSD on one machine, but it's subpar. |
